Questionnaire Response

Ron Lemieux - Dawson Trail

Why did you decide to run in the 2011 Manitoba election?

I enjoy working with people. When I first ran in 1999, I wanted to address all the regressive policies of the Filmon/McFadyen government. For example, as an educator, all the funding cuts made to school divisions throughout the 90's, by the PCs. Why am I running in 2011? To continue with all the positive forward-looking policies of the last 12 years and expand on all the progress made. These would be at risk under McFadyen.

What experience will you bring to compliment your role as MLA?

I have lived in the Dawson Trail constituency with my wife and children for 36 years. I am honoured by the privilege of being elected as the provincial representative for this area. I want to continue to work as the elected MLA for Dawson Trail. I know the issues and am able to address them by building consensus and partnerships.

Is there anything in particular you would like to change in our province? In your electoral division?

Regressive Tory/Conservative policies that would erase the progress made in Dawson Trail. Cuts, cuts, cuts! Commitments made by the provincial Government that would be stopped by a McFadyen government.
