This constituency is located in the northern portion of Manitoba. The population of the constituency in 2008 was 18,900. It is largely unchanged from the previous constituency, although the western-most portion of the previous constituency is now a part of Flin Flon. This area was previously represented by Steve Ashton (New Democratic Party) who was first elected in 1981.
