This constituency is located in the southern portion of Manitoba. The population of the constituency in 2008 was 20,500. It is a new constituency consisting of the former Carman, Pembina, and Turtle Mountain constituencies. The area was previously represented by Blaine Pedersen (Progressive Conservative Party) in Carman since 2007; by Peter George Dyck (Progressive Conservative Party) in Pembina since 1995; and by Cliff Cullen (Progressive Conservative Party) in Turtle Mountain since 2004.
