Fort Rouge

This constituency is located in the central part of Winnipeg. The population of the constituency in 2008 was 20,800. The previous constituency of the same name now no longer includes anything north of the Assiniboine River. The southern boundary has been extended from Corydon to the CNR rail line and Carter Avenue into the former Lord Roberts constituency. The west side has extended from Stafford to Guelph Street north of Garwood Ave and to Wilton Street south of Garwood, which was formerly in River Heights. This area was previously represented by Jennifer Howard (New Democratic Party) in Fort Rouge 2007; by Diane McGifford (New Democratic Party) in Lord Roberts since 1995; and by Jon Gerrard (Liberal Party) in River Heights since 1999.
